Exploration of a Copper Ore Deposit in Elbistan/Turkey Using 2D Inversion of the Time-Domain Induced Polarization Data by Using Unstructured Mesh

Abstract We present the results of a direct current (DC) resistivity and time-domain induced polarization (TDIP) survey exploring copper ore deposit in Elbistan/Turkey. The is elongated below valley disseminated form with sulfide content. DC IP data were acquired using pole-dipole array on eight parallel profiles crossing perpendicularly. length each profile was 300 m an inter-profile distance about 50 m. interpreted by newly developed 2D DC/TDIP inversion algorithm. finite element algorithm uses local smoothness constrained regularization unstructured meshes. forward solution, as well inverse problem, solved iterative preconditioned conjugate solver. depth investigation (DOI) determined from cumulative sensitivities results.
